NEW YORK – Georgia Force QB Chris Greisen became the AFL’s single-season record holder for touchdown passes in a season with 111 Friday night. As irony would have it, Greisen broke former Dallas teammate Clint Dolezel’s single-season touchdown mark (105 in 2006) last week with a eight-touchdown performance vs. Orlando, and his former mentor was all smiles.
“There are very few people on earth, not just football players, that are as a good a person as Chris Greisen,” Dolezel said of is ex-teammate. “To see him (break my record), it doesn’t bother me one bit. He deserves everything he gets.”
Greisen completed a 45-yard touchdown pass to WR Chris Jackson with 11:07 remaining in the second quarter to break the previous mark, set last year by Dallas Desperados QB Clint Dolezel (105). Greisen spent last season as Dolezel’s backup before being acquired by the Force this offseason.
Greisen finished the game with eight touchdown passes and now has 111 with one game left in the regular season.
