The rights to defensive tackle Jason Jefferson have been retained as the restricted free agent was tendered a qualifying offer prior to Thursday’s 4pm deadline by the Bills. Jefferson saw action in a career-high 11 games in 2007 and contributed a career-high 20 tackles. The defensive tackle actually saw a good portion of his playing time at defensive end throughout the course of last season. Injuries hit the end position hard and Jefferson was called upon to help fill the void several times. Jefferson is a former sixth round pick of the New Orleans Saints (2005).
